Three lanes are blocked on the M25 following a serious collision involving 6 vehicles, Two of those involved are LGV’s, one of them being a loaded fuel tanker and four other cars a red Ford focus, a silver Ford people carrier and a silver Vauxhall vectra that left the carriageway and ploughed down an embankment. after causing damaged to road furniture
Three lanes are blocked and officers from Highways England are also carrying out traffic management at the scene.
It is currently unclear whether any of those involved are seriously injured. Kent Fire and Rescue have sent appliances and South East Coast Ambulance have also sent two ambulances to the scene. It is understood that a numebr of people where treated at the scene by Paramedics.
Drivers have reported long delays between Junction 5 to Junction 6 e.
Highways England traffic officers have closed the on slip at junction six of the M25 at Godstone and local diversions are in place,drivers are advise to follow the yellow square.
Highways England are stating that there is currently a 2 hour delay between J7 and J5 of the M25. Two lanes remain closed whilst the fuel tanker is recovered by specialist contractors. We understand that the two lanes of the motorway will remain closed for some time to allow recovery of the three further vehicles that have been damaged in the multi-vehicle collision and this may have an impact on rush hour traffic on the M25.
