A Woman in her 70’s has been rushed to hospital following a freak accident involving a bus in the town of Greenhithe this morning. London Road remains sealed off for a Police investigation after fire crews lifted the bus to free the trapped pensioner who is understood to live locally. It is understood that the woman has been left seriously injured after being crushed under the bus.
Emergency services including police, paramedics, firefighters and the air ambulance were called to London Road Greenhithe just after 12.20pm on Thursday (November 30th November)
Fire Crews used air bag to lift the bus from the woman who was than rushed to hospital by land ambulance It is understood that doctors form the Kent air ambulance stablished the woman before she was transported.
Knockhall Chase and Parts of London Road remain closed whilst Police deal with the incident and Accident investigation work takes place this is lilkely to be in place for a number of hours
Kent Police said: “officers were called at 12.20pm on Thursday 30 November 2017 to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a bus in Knockhall Chase, Greenhithe.
“Serious injuries have been reported. Emergency services are currently at the scene and a road closure is in place.”
