Detectives have made a third arrest as they continue to investigate after a 20-year-old man, from Birmingham, was brutally attacked in Middle Street, Somerstown, late in the evening on Saturday 17th February.

A 22-year-old man from Portsmouth was arrested yesterday on suspicion of attempted murder. He has been released from custody but remains under investigation.

The second person arrested, a 22-year-old male from London, also remains under investigation.

The first man arrested, a 21-year-old man from London, was released with no further action.

Detective Inspector David West said, “We’re continuing with our investigation to try to establish exactly what happened.

“If you have any information about what happened, or if you saw anything suspicious in the area, we’d like to hear from you.”
