Police find Body at Cowes Property on the Isle Wight

First Reported :An investigation’s underway after a man was found dead in a house in Nelson Drive in Cowes. Police tell us they’re currently treating his death as unexplained but not suspicious. Police called on the Isle of Wight fire and rescue service to breaking down the front door of the property and officers and fire crews made the grim discovery just after 6.50 on Saturday morning. The road remains cordoned off but residents are free to go as they please. Fire crews departed just after 9am and he property is being examined as previously report by scene of crime officers to rule out any foul play. The alarm was raised is understood following a concern for welfare at the address. A spokesman for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police said:” A cordon has been put place around a property since this morning (Saturday) and officers will stay in the Nelson Drive area while they continue their enquiries.
