Fire Crew Called to Suspected Car Fire on Brading Down

A fire crew stationed at Newport have been called to Brading Down to a suspected car fire. The crew of Five where mobilised just before 3pm on Wednesday to a lay by near to Lime Kiln Shute.

The concerned owner of the Black Island Registered Ford Focus called the fire service after they saw smoke starting to pouring from under the bonnet. The driver and her Passenger and remove their belonging including a car seat thinking the vehicle was about to be engulf in flames. The fire crew used small tool to check the vehicle and found that the engine has overheated. The vehicle has been left with the owner to arrange recovery.
