Fatal shooting outside Queensbury Tube station

A murder investigation has been launched in Queensbury after a man was fatally shot.

Police were called to Cumberland Road, HA8 outside Queensbury tube station at 21:02hrs on Tuesday, 1 May following reports of a shooting.

Armed police and London Ambulance Service (LAS) attended and found the man, believed to be aged in his thirties, suffering from a critical gun shot injury. He died at the scene at 21:58hrs.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course. Formal identification awaits.

Police are in the process of informing the victim’s next-of-kin.

A man in his 20s also attended a north London hospital with a gun shot injury at 21:08hrs. He remains in hospital in a stable condition.

No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue.

A crime scene remains in place in Cumberland Road, HA8 and in Essolado Way, HA8 where the attacks are believed to have taken place.

Forensic analysis including ballistic examination is underway and local CCTV footage in the area is being obtained for review.

Police in Brent continue to deal alongside colleagues from the Homicide and Major Crime Command.

Detective Inspector Justin Howick said: “I would like to appeal to anyone with information to contact police at the earliest opportunity. Detectives are busy at the scene and working to build a clear picture of the circumstances of this fatal attack.”
