A 22 year old Ryde man has been arrested after being taken to the floor by two people outside a Convenience Store store we can reveal. The serious attempted attack took place in the early hours of Thursday morning (May 2) George Street in Ryde. In exclusive footage we have seen it clearly shows what is claimed that the man moments before the attack in the street carrying the knife behind his back. The man who we aren’t naming was arrestted by Police and taken to Newport Police station to be questioned bystanders have said. It is understood that the man was carrying a ten inch kitchen knife behind his back and was attempted to attack a couple in the street It is understood that the detained man attempted to stab them 3 times but missed. Two bystanders saw the attack taking place and put the man to the floor and than detained the man until Police arrived and he was arrested. Eight officers and four cars where sent to the scene and an ambulance from Isle of Wight ambulance also attended. It is understood that Police seized the knives and a black motorcycle that the man was riding without a helmet. We have approached Hampshire Police for Comment.
