Fire investigators from Surrey Fire and rescue are going to the scene of a waste fire at Smallfield, near Horley, that saw 300 tonnes of rubbish burn through the night.

Fire crews from both Surrey and West Sussex fought the blaze and remain at the scene now.
Fire crews from Salfords, Reigate, Godstone, Lingfield and Water carriers from Leatherhead and Guildford where called to the 300 tonnes of building waste and wood alight on Chapel Road Smallfield on Saturday evening. Additional fire vehicles, the High Volume Pump from Chertsey, Leatherhead Aerial Ladder Platform also & Hose Layer from Egham where called soon as it was through that the smoke plume have effect Gatwick Airport operations. Crews remain at the blaze 15 hours on.
