Woman having Heart attack Pulled from Cowes Water and Airlifted to Hospitial

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air ambulance have been called after a woman has been pulled from the Water in Cowes this afternoon. Paramedics and the Doctor from the Air ambulance are currently carrying out cycles of CPRs on the person who has been pulled from the water near Prince’s Green in Cowes this evening (Monday).

A Cordon has been put on Queens Road by the Green by Police and a number of officers are working with partners from the Isle of Wight Ambulance service. The circumstances of how the person came to be in the water are unknown or if they are taking part in activities related to Cowes week. The woman has been airlifted to Southampton General Hospital. Emergency services remain at the scene. It is understood that the woman was spotted by two men walking along the beach who raised then alarm before pulling the woman from the water. The woman in her Fifties is understood to have had a heart attack whilst swimming in the water.
