Detectives investigating a collision in Edgware which has left a moped rider in a critical condition are appealing for information and witnesses.

Police were called at 9.55pm on Saturday, 11 August to reports of a road traffic collision in Turner Road, Edgware.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found a moped in collision with a car.

The moped driver, aged in his 20s, was taken to a central London hospital where he remains in a critical condition. His injuries are being treated as life-threatening.

His next-of-kin have been informed.

The driver of the car, a blue Toyota Prius, stopped at the scene.

Detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating and are appealing for witnesses and information.

Detective Constable Daniella Zenga, the investigating officer, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed this collision so we can establish the circumstances surrounding this incident. We would also appeal to anyone with dash cam or CCTV footage of the incident to get in touch.”
