The Coastguard Search and Rescue helicopter Rescue 175 has been scrambled to Brighton to assist in a life-saving rescue after two people became entrapped under the Brighton Palace Pier. Coastguard Teams, the Police and Paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance are at the scene. An RNLI lifeboat has also been tasked to the incident to help rescue the two people who are trapped. It is unclear how the pair got into the situation if they were pulled under the pier by the tide or exploring. Emergency teams are at the shoreline standing by to recover the pair who have been scooped into the lifeboat.
