Police have called to a property on Orchard Road in East Cowes on the Isle of Wight this evening One man has been arrested and loaded into a Police van this evening after eight officers arrived in the Road under blue light. A number of officers attended the property along with the Isle of Wight Police dog handler. Officers were called just before 8pm on Tuesday evening. It is unclear of why officers were called but the detained man did not go quietly. The detained man has been taken to Newport Police station. With other officers remaining in the road.

Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed that a 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault, occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH) following a domestic incident.

He remains in custody at Newport Police Station this morning.

Police were on scene at the property for several hours last night and were still present at 11.30pm.
