Four young children have died in a serve house fire. The children aged 8,6, and 2 years old all sadly died after a fire ripped through a property on Sycamore Lane in the early hours on Tuesday morning. They were declared dead at the scene and their parent adults and baby jumped from the bedroom window as the blaze took hold.
A joint investigation has been launched by the Staffordshire fire and rescue and West Midlands Fire and Rescue service. Fire crews were beaten back by flames when trying to enter the property. Witnesses say that a large blue and green flame could be seen through the roof of the property. Two Fire crews from Stafford and a third Rising brook were called just after 2.30am. An aerial ladder platform was also sent to the incident after the fire ripped through the property to the roof and destroyed the top of the stairs.

At 2:40am this morning (Feb 5) police officers and colleagues from the fire and ambulance services attended a serious house fire in the Highfields area of Stafford.
A search at the property in Sycamore Lane is ongoing, but it is with great sadness we can confirm the deaths of four children at the property.
Two adults and another child are being treated in hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service are examining the scene as the investigation into the cause of the fire begins.
