New yellow weather warning issued for Isle of Wight

A new weather warning for wind has been issued for the Isle of Wight and comes into effect on Wednesday.

Met office forecasters have advised of winds of up to 50mph and are urging residents to be vigilant.

Strong northwesterly winds are expected during Wednesday with possible transport disruption.”

Bus and railway services could be affected and power cuts are possible, while people living in seafront and exposed areas are being warned to be careful.

Heavy rain is also forecast throughout Tuesday.

The warning comes after strong winds caused travel problems at the weekend.
