Police have detained and arrested four teenagers from an Isle of Wight School following an attack in Newport on Wednesday.

Officers have launched an investigation following the allegations of a serious assault taking place in the grounds of Sea Close park that backs on to the Medina college complex.

Officers swoooped on the troubled
School and carried out a number of arrests we can reveal.

One person is who is understood to be a pupil was rushed to St Mary’s hospital by ambulance just after 4pm on Wednesday after being subjected to an assault by the out of control tenenagere who are aged between 13 and 15 years old.

The victim who we are choosing not to name was kicked and punch a number of times and also kicked in the in the face and head whilst in the ground.

Video footage has also been released on snapchats groups and circulating around the school.

A number of teenagers are understood to have been arrested by Police as part of an ongoing investigation.

The head teacher is understood to be fully cooperating with Police.

HDetective Inspector Ron Lock from Hampshire Constablary said: “I’m keen to hear from anyone who has recorded footage of this incident, or who have seen this being shared on social media platforms.

“Police officers are continuing to speak to a number of teenagers and their parents to identify everyone who was involved. Thankfully no-one was seriously hurt.

“Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team will be patrolling the area and working with local schools and I’d encourage teenagers or parents who have any concerns to speak to one of these uniformed officers.”
