Emergency services have been called to a road traffic collision between the villages of Brighstone and Shorwell this morning.
The collision involving a single vehicle occurred on Walkers Lane at the Shorwell end of the B3399.
All three emergency services have been mobilised to the incident that happened just after 8am on Monday morning.
A number of buses have been trapped between the collision and services are servilely effected due to the road being blocked.
A diverted route and revised service has been brought into effect.
School buses have also been caught in the build up of traffic.
The Isle of Wight fire service sent one appliance from Newport to carry out scene safety on the motorbike
The collision involves a motorcyclist who has left the carriageway and come to a stop in a field near to Westcourt Farm.
The Dorset and Somerset Air ambulance has also been called to the scene at the request of the Isle of Wight ambulance service.
Paramedics and the air ambulance doctors are currently working on the seriously injured rider who is going to be air lifted to the major trauma centre at Southampton General hospital.
