Police manhunt for serial sex attacker

Detectives from the Met’s North Area Command Unit are investigating a group of sexual assaults in the Hornsey, Crouch End and Stroud Green area. In each incident, the victims, who have all been females walking alone, were approached by a man riding a moped, who has followed the victims and sexually assaulted them before fleeing. On 3 March a 23-year-old woman was walking in Malvern Road N8 when she was assaulted at 01:17hrs. On 16 March a 29-year-old woman was assaulted in Despard Road N19 at 01:00hrs. On 29 March a 22-year-old woman was assaulted in Despard Road N19 at 00:10hrs On 29 March a 14-year-old girl was assaulted in The Broadway at 20:45hrs. On 30 March a 29-year-old woman was assaulted at 22:40hrs in Nelson Road N8.On 18 April a 19-year-old woman was assaulted in Lancaster Road N4 at 22:15hrs. The man was described as riding a moped with a box on the back, suggesting he is possibly working as a courier or delivery driver, or fast food worker. He is generally described as wearing dark clothing.Detective Inspector Pete Dyche, of the North Area Command Unit, is leading the investigation. He said: “We are keeping an open mind as to any links amongst these crimes.
