Emergency services called after woman fall into trench

Emergency services have been called to rescue a woman who is trapped and injured from a trench at a property in Ryde tonight (Wednesday).

Firefighters and Paramedics are at Thornton Manor on Thornton Manor Drive in Ryde , where the woman has fallen approximately a metre

There are concerns that the woman may have hurt her neck and back as a result of the fall.

The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called after an assist call from the Island ambulance service at around 9.30pm on Wednesday.

A tac advisor from the fire service is working on formulating plan to recover the woman with Paramedics who are in scene. Due to the confined space the rescue is very complex.
