A fire has destroyed a vintage Ferrari that caught alight in Wickham this afternoon.
Retained firefighters from Hampshire Fire and Rescue service stationed at Wickham and whole time crew from Fareham rushed to the scene on Hundred Acres Road to be faced with the red Ferrari engulfed in flames.
The driver managed to escape before the fire took hold. It is understood that the fire broke out in the engine compartment and spread.
A spokesperson for the Fire and Rescue Service said: “The driver escaped unhurt.
Crews were called at just after 4pm on Monday. Two crews used a hose reel and jet to put out the fire. The scene was then handed over to officers from Hampshire Constabulary who have arranged recovery of the vehicle.
