The A259 Havant Road in Emsworth has been closed in both directions this evening after what is being described as a serious collision.

The motorcycle rider has been taken to the Southampton General hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.
The A259 Havant Road remains closed in both directions between the Selangor Avenue junction and the Record Road junction due to the collision to establish the exact cause of the collision.
Emergency service workers are at the scene supported by collision scene investigators.
The collision involving a grey Vauxhall Mervia and a motorcycle happened near to the Brookfield hotel and the entrance to the BP garage on the A259.
The male motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries and has been taken to Southampton General Hospital.
The female driver of the car was uninjured.
Diversions are in place.
Police are hoping to have the road reopened by 10.30pm this evening (Monday December 26).
Speaking at the scene Traffic Sargent Paul White based at Whitchurch said: “We know that there would have been other vehicles in the area at the time of the collision so we would like to hear from them.
“Did you see either vehicle prior to the collision or did you see what happened? If so, please contact us as you could have information which could assist our investigation.”
