A closure order has been issued at an address in Salisbury following a joint police and local authority investigation into suspected drugs activity, anti-social behaviour and violence

Officers from the Salisbury Area Community Policing Team have been called to the property in Eyres Way numerous times and has worked with Wiltshire Council to apply to the courts for a full closure order.

This was granted yesterday (25/11) by Salisbury Magistrates Court and prevents anyone from entering the property.

Anyone found entering the premises over the next three months will be committing a criminal offence and may be arrested.

PC Mark Douglas said he hoped this measure would have a positive impact on people living in the community.

He said: “We know how much misery has been caused in the local area by the criminal activity at this address, so we have worked hard with the local authority to have this full closure order granted by the courts.

“We now need to make it clear that this property has been closed and that anyone who is found there could be arrested.

“Over the next few months we will be carrying out increased patrols to ensure the order is being adhered to.

“We hope this shows that we, along with Wiltshire Council, will take strong action to protect our local communities and keep people safe from this type of anti-social and criminal behaviour.”
