BrewDog employees have embarked on an epic virtual journey ‘around the world in 80 bars’ as a fun way for the BrewDog crew to join forces and showcase their commitment to reducing their carbon emissions. Using eco companion platform Pawprint, employees are undertaking sustainability challenges to reduce their carbon footprints. Every reduction made is powering a virtual car which they hope will take them to 80 BrewDog bars around the world.
The ‘Around the world in 80 bars’ challenge is an all company virtual challenge where CO2e reductions made via Pawprint challenges are equated to miles driven (in terms of emissions). The business hopes that employees getting on board will be able to ‘drive’ down their carbon emissions and virtually reach 80 BrewDog bars around the world; from the UK to Japan. And as it’s a virtual challenge, there’s nothing stopping them having a Punk or two as they visit each bar!
Pawprint combines technology, behavioural science and carbon data to make it easy for users to measure, understand and reduce their carbon footprints. BrewDog cemented their position at the forefront of the fight against climate change by being the very first business to sign up as a Pawprint Pioneer and using Pawprint for Business to help all their employees fight climate change at home, at work and beyond.
Karen Bates, People Director at BrewDog said; “We were looking for a way for our crew to remain engaged in reducing their Carbon Footprint whilst our bars were not open, and what better way than to visit our bars virtually, whilst completing challenges that will reduce their personal Pawprint and add to BrewDogs carbon negative journey.”
Christian Arno, founder and CEO at Pawprint; “Whilst we may not actually be able to visit our favourite BrewDog bar at present it’s inspiring to see BrewDog employees taking the opportunity to reduce their carbon footprint in this way. It can be hard to visualise our carbon emissions which is why Pawprint offers personalised challenges to help users visualise impact.”
