Since Sunday 1 April 2018 there have been 19 separate incidents of vehicle crime within a small area of the city, including 17 in which windows were smashed and two where items were stolen.
Doors were also prised open on two occasions.
The main locations affected are Beverley Road, Pine Tree Avenue, Birchwood Walk and Hanover Place, with most offences reported to have been committed late at night or in the early hours.
Sergeant Colette Todd of the Canterbury Community Safety Unit said: ‘We have increased patrols in the area but would urge vehicle owners to remain vigilant and remove any valuables from their cars or vans before leaving them unattended.
‘We would also encourage residents to report any suspicious activity to us so we can catch whoever is responsible.’
