10-Year-Old Boy in Stable Condition Following Thamesmead Collision

In a recent incident in Thamesmead, a 10-year-old boy was involved in a collision with a car, resulting in his hospitalisation. The accident took place on Central Way at approximately 3:25 pm yesterday, January 23 and the road reopened just after 7.30pm the same day.

Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene after receiving the distressing call. Upon arrival, they discovered the young boy with injuries sustained from the collision. Immediately, he was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, and we are relieved to report that he is currently in stable condition.

The driver of the car involved in the incident acted responsibly by stopping at the scene of the accident. Metropolitan Police were alerted to the situation, and they have since initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police provided the following statement: “Police were called at about 15:25 hrs on Tuesday, 23 January to reports of a car in collision with a child on Central Way, SE28. Emergency services attended. The 10-year-old boy was taken to the hospital where he remains in stable condition. The driver stopped at the scene. Enquiries continue.”

As investigations continue, authorities will work diligently to establish the sequence of events leading up to the collision. Our thoughts are with the young boy and his family, and we hope for his swift recovery.
