A suspect has appeared in court charged with carrying out a serious assault in Folkestone

The victim was found with facial injuries at around 10.30am on Saturday 10 August 2024 in Underhill Road. She was taken to a local hospital, from where she has since been discharged.

A man, who is known to the victim, was arrested shortly after the incident and has since been held in custody.

Kieron Deacy, of Marine Parade, Hythe, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and breaching a restraining order.

The 26-year-old appeared before Margate Magistrates’ Court on Monday 12 August and was remanded in custody to appear before Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 9 September.

Officers are continuing to appeal to anyone with information to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting reference 46/134233/24.
