A3 Closed following Serious Collision

The A3 in Surrey currently closed southbound between the B2039 and the A247 near Ripley in Surrey. Emergency Services are dealing with a serious collision involving one vehicle that happen just before 9pm on Tuesday evening (May 1st). Surrey Police are working with South East Coast Ambulance and Surrey Fire and Rescue have sent three appliances from Guildford, Painshill and Esher who are working using specialist cutting equipment to free one person who is trapped in vehicle. There injuries are a being described as serious. There is a vehicle diversion in place this has been set as off at Ockham Park, through Ripley and rejoin the A3 southbound at Burntcommon UPDATE 2243; All trapped traffic has now been cleared from the scene, and the A3 remains closed southbound between the B2039 and the A247. The closure is likely to be in place for sometime until the early hours of Wednesday morning. Surrey Police have yet to issue and appeal or update into the circumstances of the collision.
