Appeal for Information Following Crash on A90 near Temple of Fiddes, Aberdeenshire

Road policing officers are seeking information from the public after a collision occurred on the A90 near Temple of Fiddes. The incident took place on Wednesday, July 12, around 16.35 BST involving a white Mercedes Viano van and a white DAF lorry.

Two female passengers, aged 60 and 57, who were travelling in the Mercedes, sustained serious injuries and were promptly transported to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment. Currently, their condition is described as stable.

A 56-year-old man was arrested in connection with the crash but has since been released pending further inquiries by the authorities.

In order to conduct a thorough investigation and facilitate recovery efforts, the road had to be closed for approximately six hours following the incident.

Sergeant Sarah Ritchie from the North East Road Policing Unit emphasized that their investigation to establish the complete circumstances surrounding the collision is still ongoing. Sergeant Ritchie appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or possesses dashcam footage from the area during the relevant time on Wednesday afternoon to come forward with information.

“If you have any information or dashcam footage that could assist us, we urge you to contact us. Your cooperation is vital in helping us uncover the details of this collision,” said Sergeant Ritchie. Individuals with relevant information can contact the police by calling 101, quoting incident number 2603 of July 12.
