Breaking News: Barn Fire in Hunton, Maidstone

Kent Fire and Rescue Service swiftly responded to reports of a shed ablaze in Barn Hill, Hunton, Maidstone. The incident occurred on Tuesday, 27 February 2024, at approximately 10.31pm.

Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters discovered that the fire had spread not only to the shed but also to adjacent fencing and a log store. The situation prompted the dispatch of two fire engines equipped with the necessary gear, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and breathing apparatus.

Utilizing high-pressure hose reel jets, the dedicated crews battled the flames, working tirelessly to extinguish them and prevent further escalation of the blaze. Despite the intensity of the fire, there were no reported injuries, offering a silver lining amidst the chaos.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire was accidental, stemming from an electrical fault. However, authorities continue to probe the incident to ascertain further details and ensure the safety of the community.

Residents are reminded to remain vigilant and proactive in fire prevention measures, especially as the investigation into the cause of the fire progresses
