Burglar Jailed for Stealing Cash and Booze from Beckenham Pubs and Restaurants

A prolific burglar who targeted multiple pubs and restaurants on Beckenham High Street has been sentenced to one year in prison.

Aaron Robinson, 33, went on a crime spree between May 18 and June 15, repeatedly stealing cash and alcohol from various establishments. His targets included the Greek restaurant Yammas, which he burglarized twice, and the Latin restaurant Paloma, where he committed theft on three different occasions. Robinson also stole from Erin’s pub.

Robinson was arrested on June 15 and subsequently refused to provide a sample for a drug test. He appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on June 17, where he pleaded guilty to six counts of theft.

Magistrates sentenced Robinson to one year in prison, citing his “flagrant disregard for people and their property.” No order for compensation was made.

Robinson’s repeated offences disrupted local businesses, leading to financial losses and heightened concerns over security among proprietors and patrons alike. The sentence aims to serve as a deterrent and underscore the seriousness of his actions.

Local authorities have reassured the community that they are taking steps to prevent similar incidents in the future, including increased patrols and enhanced security measures for businesses.

For further updates on local crime and safety measures, residents are encouraged to follow the local police on social media or visit their official website.
