Church Hall Fire in Romford Prompted Large-Scale Response

Ten Fire Engies Called to Tackle Church Hall Blaze in Romford

In the early hours of the morning, a significant fire broke out in a church hall located on St Andrews Road, Romford, prompting a rapid response from emergency services. Ten fire engines and approximately 70 firefighters rushed to the scene to tackle the blaze.

The fire, which engulfed parts of the ground floor, first floor, and the building’s roof, caused substantial damage to the property. To combat the flames effectively, firefighters deployed advanced equipment, including one of the Brigade’s 32m ladders, allowing them to attack the fire from above.

The intensity of the fire resulted in the production of a large volume of smoke, prompting authorities to advise residents in the vicinity to keep their doors and windows closed as a precautionary measure.

Control Officers were alerted to the incident at 12:30am, and thanks to the swift and coordinated efforts of responding crews, the situation was brought under control by 3am. Firefighters from Dagenham, Ilford, Hainault, and neighbouring fire stations collaborated to contain the blaze and prevent further spread.

At present, the cause of the fire remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The prompt and decisive response of emergency services highlights their unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property within the community. As investigations continue, residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of all.
