First Picture and a Tragic Loss of 15-Year-Old Alfie Lewis: Stabbing Outside Leeds School Shakes Community

The heart-wrenching death of a fifteen-year-old boy, Alfie Lewis, has left the Horsforth community near Leeds in shock after he was fatally stabbed outside a primary school. The incident occurred shortly before 3pm, casting a dark cloud over the peaceful town.

Another teenager is currently under investigation by murder detectives in connection with the tragic attack that claimed young Alfie’s life. The circumstances surrounding this devastating event are under intense scrutiny as the community grapples with the loss of one of their own.

Alfie, who was picking up another child from St. Margaret’s Primary School on Town Lane, was critically injured during the incident. Witnesses reported that a group of at least three youths attacked Alfie, stabbing him in the stomach before fleeing the scene.

Parents, who had arrived at the school to collect their children, rushed to Alfie’s aid and provided crucial assistance until paramedics arrived. It is reported that a knife was recovered from the scene, adding to the gravity of the situation.

Tributes have been pouring in for Alfie on social media platforms, with one heartfelt message on Facebook reading: “I love and miss you so much Alfie fly high my lil ginge. I’ll come see you soon.”

Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Stacey Atkinson expressed the early stage of the investigation, emphasizing the need to uncover the factors that led to this tragic loss. The impact of such an incident on the local community is immense, and the police, along with the neighbourhood police team and partnering organizations, are providing support and reassurance during this difficult time.

Emergency service personnel, including paramedics and the air ambulance, converged on the scene in response to the emergency call. A police helicopter was also deployed to assist in the situation. Floral tributes began to appear at the site as news of Alfie’s passing spread throughout the community.

Alfie was a pupil at Horsforth School & Sixth Form, celebrating his fifteenth birthday in September. In a statement to parents, headteacher Paul Bell acknowledged the distressing incident and confirmed that the school was working closely with the police.

“Our thoughts and sympathies lie with the [boy’s family] at this time while the student is receiving medical treatment,” said Mr. Bell, recognizing the emotional impact of the incident on students and staff.

As the community comes to terms with this tragedy, the investigation into Alfie Lewis’s death continues, with the police urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist in bringing clarity to this heartbreaking event.
