A community is in mourning following a tragic accident on the A249 Stockbury that claimed the life of a 16-year-old girl, identified by locals as Alisha Marie. The incident occurred around 6:45 PM yesterday when a white Toyota Hilux, in which Alisha was a passenger, crashed near the junction for Church Hill.

The vehicle reportedly collided with a road barrier, causing it to overturn, resulting in fatal injuries to Alisha. The devastating crash also left a 15-year-old boy with serious injuries, prompting emergency services to airlift him to a London hospital for urgent medical treatment.

According to reports, the 17-year-old driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries in the collision. However, he was subsequently arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been taken into police custody for further questioning.

In the wake of this tragic incident, Kent Police are appealing to members of the public for assistance. They are urging drivers with dashcams who were in the vicinity of the A249 Stockbury to review their footage for any relevant information. Additionally, authorities are keen to speak to eyewitnesses who may have seen the collision or the Toyota in the moments leading up to the accident.

Anyone who can provide valuable information is urged to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) on 01622 798538, quoting reference: RY/HG/021/24.

As the community grapples with the loss of Alisha and the aftermath of this devastating accident, authorities are working diligently to piece together the events leading up to the crash and provide support to those affected by this heartbreaking tragedy.
