Following a misconduct hearing, a Wiltshire Police officer was fired today (17/6)

The hearing, presided over by an independent Legally Qualified Chair (LQC), focused on one allegation against Adam Reed: inappropriate touching of a colleague.
The allegation was proven, and Mr Reed was dismissed without notice by the LQC.
The actions of former Police Constable Adam Reed were not only wholly inappropriate, but they violated the dignity of his colleague and would have caused him significant distress,” Wiltshire Police Deputy Chief Constable Paul Mills said.
His actions amounted to unwanted sexual conduct, and Wiltshire Police fully supports the LQC’s decision to dismiss Adam Reed. He has now been placed on the national barred list, which means he will be unable to work in policing in the future.

There is no place in Wiltshire Police for anyone who acts in this manner, and the officer was immediately suspended after learning of the incident. “The actions of this individual will undoubtedly cause public concern and likely undermine the work of the exceptionally committed members of our organisation who strive to provide an outstanding service to the communities they serve,” the officer said.
Wiltshire Police remains committed to ensuring that every officer and staff member performs their duties to the highest standards possible, and as this case demonstrates, we will act swiftly and forcefully when these standards are not met. Furthermore, if any member of the community has concerns about the professionalism of those who serve in our organisation, we would encourage them to speak up as soon as possible.” The victim in this case will continue to receive the organization’s full support.”
