M1 Northbound Closed in Bedfordshire Following Serious Collision

The M1 in Bedfordshire is currently closed northbound between Junction 12 (Toddington) and Junction 13 (Brogborough) due to a serious road traffic collision. Emergency services, including Bedfordshire Police, are on the scene, and National Highways Traffic Officers are assisting with traffic management.

Diversion Route:

Drivers are advised to follow the Hollow Diamond diversion symbol on road signs. The diversion route is as follows:

  1. Exit the M1 at Junction 12 and proceed northeast on the A5120 towards Westoning.
  2. Continue on the A5120 through Westoning to the A5120/Steppingley Road roundabout.
  3. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Steppingley Road and continue past Flitwick Railway Station, merging onto Fordfield Road.
  4. Follow Fordfield Road to the A507/Fordfield Road crossroads and keep right onto the A507 Ridgemont by-pass.
  5. Proceed straight over the Station Road and Salford Road roundabouts, merging onto the A421 Bedford Road.
  6. Re-join the M1 at Junction 13.

Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and consider alternative routes or delaying their journeys.
