Major Manhunt for Missing Teen at Rudyard Lake as Two Rushed to Hospital

A significant manhunt is underway at Rudyard Lake, Staffordshire, following reports of three teenagers falling into the rural lake. The incident unfolded around 9:30 PM on Saturday, prompting a swift response from police, paramedics, firefighters, and aerial support.

Staffordshire Police have confirmed that three young men believed to be approximately 17 years old, were observed in the water. While two of them managed to escape and were subsequently assessed by paramedics at the scene before being transported to the hospital, a third teenager remains unaccounted for.

Efforts to locate the missing teen have intensified, with specialist search teams, including personnel from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, actively scouring the area. The National Police Air Service has also been enlisted to assist in the search efforts.

Authorities have urged the public to avoid the vicinity of Rudyard Lake as the search operation continues. The area has been cordoned off as emergency services concentrate their efforts on locating the missing teenager.

Rudyard Lake, a reservoir situated northwest of the town of Leek, Staffordshire, has a long history dating back to the late 18th century when it was constructed to supply water to the Caldon Canal. Today, it is a popular recreational destination for various water activities, including boating, canoeing, and fishing.

As the search for the missing teenager enters its next phase, emergency services remain committed to exhausting all resources in the effort to locate and ensure the safety of the individual.
