Man Arrested in Connection with PPE Medpro Investigation

The National Crime Agency (NCA) has made an arrest in connection with the ongoing criminal investigation into PPE Medpro, the company that secured lucrative government personal protective equipment (PPE) contracts during the Covid pandemic.

A 46-year-old man from Barnet, London, was apprehended at his home address. The NCA suspects him of conspiracy to commit fraud and attempting to pervert the course of justice. He is currently being interviewed by NCA officers.

PPE Medpro, led by Baroness Michelle Mone’s husband, Doug Barrowman, was awarded contracts worth over £200 million to supply gowns and face masks. These contracts were secured without normal competitive tendering regulations due to the urgency of the pandemic response.

Previously, both Michelle Mone and Douglas Barrowman were interviewed under caution by NCA investigators. The investigation continues as authorities delve into the procurement process and potential criminal offences related to PPE contracts.
