A 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged following an assault on a young woman in Stirling, Scotland. The incident occurred on Saturday, 3 August, shortly after 8.20pm on King Street.
The victim, a 21-year-old woman, was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital for treatment for a stab wound. Her injury, while serious, is not considered life-threatening. No one else was injured during the incident.
Inspector Phil McIntosh of the Stirling Police Department commented on the case: “We are aware of speculation and false information circulating on social media regarding this incident. Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and I would urge people not to add to this speculation online.
He added, “We are aware of the impact this incident has had in the local area and can reassure people that considerable efforts are being made to identify the man involved. I would urge anyone with information which could help our investigation to come forward by calling 101, quoting reference 3563 of 3 August, 2024.”
The police continue to appeal for witnesses and any information related to the assault as they work diligently to bring clarity and justice to the case.
