Man Charged with Two Counts of Attempted Murder in Kennington Underground Station Incident

A 35-year-old man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, possession of a bladed article, and one count of sexual assault in connection with a disturbing incident that unfolded at Kennington underground station on March 27.

Nicholas Orlando Green, a resident of Kennington Park Road, is set to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court on Saturday, March 30. He has been remanded into custody pending further legal proceedings.

The charges stem from an incident that prompted a swift response from law enforcement officers, who were called to Kennington underground station at approximately 10:30 pm on March 27 following reports of a violent altercation on the northbound platform. According to reports, one man was stabbed during the altercation, while another individual sustained injuries while attempting to intervene and prevent the attack.

Additionally, a member of the public later reported being subjected to a sexual assault by the suspect as he exited the station premises.

The incident has raised concerns and highlighted the importance of public safety, particularly in densely populated areas such as underground stations. Authorities have commended the bravery of those who intervened during the altercation and have assured the public that steps are being taken to ensure the safety and security of commuters and residents alike.
