A man has been hospitalised with a chest injury, and two individuals have been arrested after a stabbing incident in Lewisham.
Emergency services responded to Farrer House on Deptford Church Street at approximately 11:47 am following reports of a possible stabbing outside the address.
Upon investigation, police discovered a man with a chest injury outside Lewisham Hospital. The current condition of the victim remains unknown.
Two males have been arrested on suspicion of affray and are currently in custody at a south London police station.
Metropolitan Police have initiated an investigation into the incident, with several crime scenes established in the area.
In a tweet, Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust reassured patients, urging them to continue using the hospital “as normal” despite the ongoing police activity.
Authorities urge anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and contact the police, quoting reference number 2763/27FEB.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police stated: “On Tuesday, 27 February at 11:47 am police were called to reports of a possible stabbing outside Farrer House, Deptford Church Street, SE8.
Officers attended and made enquiries, locating a male with a chest injury at Lewisham Hospital. We await an update on his condition and injuries.”
