Man in His 20s Dies After Car Crashes into Tree in Beckenham

A man in his 20s has tragically died after his car crashed into a tree in Beckenham. The incident occurred on South Eden Park Road, near the junction with St David’s Close, just before 12.45am on June 9.

Emergency services, including officers from the Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service crews, and the London Fire Brigade, rushed to the scene following the crash.

An ambulance crew, paramedics in fast-response cars, an advanced paramedic, and an incident response officer attended the scene. Additionally, a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance, comprising a paramedic and a doctor in a car, was dispatched.

Despite their best efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after their arrival.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated: “Police were called at about 00:42hrs on Sunday, 9 June to reports of a car in collision with a tree on South Eden Park Road, near the junction with St David’s Close, Bromley. Officers and colleagues from London Ambulance Service attended and found a man – aged in his 20s – dead at the scene. His family have been informed. No arrests have been made. Any witnesses yet to speak with police are asked to call 101, ref CAD 305/09JUN.”

The London Ambulance Service also released a statement: “We were called at 12.39am yesterday (9 June) to reports of a road traffic collision in South Eden Park Road, West Wickham. We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, paramedics in fast-response cars, an advanced paramedic, and an incident response officer. We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance, which consisted of a paramedic and a doctor in a car. The first paramedic arrived in less than seven minutes. Sadly, despite the efforts of our crews – and our colleagues from the Metropolitan Police and London Fire Brigade – the patient died at the scene.

Police investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the authorities.
