Man in His 90s Seriously Injured After Collision with Car as He Left His Bus

A man in his 90s is in a serious condition in the hospital after a collision with a car in North Yorkshire on Monday evening. The incident occurred at approximately 5:50 pm on the A61 at the junction with Knox Mill Lane, situated between Harrogate and Killinghall.

The pedestrian involved had just disembarked from a bus, and the Ford Fiesta responsible for the collision was travelling northbound on the A61 in the direction of Killinghall at the time of the incident.

The injured man remains in a serious condition in the hospital, where medical professionals are providing him with care and treatment. Meanwhile, the driver of the Ford Fiesta is cooperating with officers from North Yorkshire Police, who have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.

To facilitate the investigation, the road was temporarily closed for several hours, with normal traffic flow resuming at 1:45 am today (Tuesday).

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the collision, observed either the vehicle involved or the pedestrian in the moments leading up to the incident, or possess dashcam footage related to the event.
