A 27-year-old man is in stable condition following a shooting incident on Stainbeck Road in Leeds earlier today, prompting West Yorkshire Police to launch a major investigation.
The incident occurred near the junction with Stainbeck Avenue at approximately 2.47pm when emergency services were alerted by the ambulance service. Armed police officers responded swiftly to the scene and located the victim, a local resident, further up Stainbeck Road suffering from a gunshot wound.
The man was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment. Authorities have since confirmed that, while his injuries are serious, they are not life-threatening.
West Yorkshire Police have cordoned off the area as they conduct a thorough investigation.
