Man Sentenced for Rape in Everton

Momoh-Jimoh Musari, a 35-year-old resident of Greenside in Everton, has been sentenced today at Liverpool Crown Court after being found guilty of rape. The conviction follows a trial held earlier this year.

In October of last year, Musari committed the heinous act of raping a woman in her 40s at a house in Everton. Following an intensive investigation, he was arrested the following month. Despite vehemently denying the offence, Musari was convicted by a jury.

In addition to his prison sentence, Musari has been placed on the Sexual Offender Register for life and handed a 15-year Restraining Order against the victim.

Detective Inspector Adam Smith emphasized the gravity of Musari’s actions, stating, “Musari is a dangerous offender, and it’s reassuring to know that he has been removed from our community and is now facing a lengthy time in prison.”

Smith also commended the bravery of the victim, who showed remarkable strength and resolve during an extremely traumatic time. Musari’s denial of the offence forced her to endure a trial, but the jury saw through his lies, bringing some comfort to her.

Detective Inspector Smith urged anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault or is concerned for someone’s safety to come forward and report it. Merseyside Police has a dedicated team of staff who compassionately handle such reports, working closely with partner organisations like Victim Care Support Service and RASA.
