Milton Keynes Murder Probe: Major Crime Unit Investigates Stabbing

Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit has initiated a murder investigation following a stabbing incident that claimed the life of a 48-year-old man in Milton Keynes. The force was alerted by the South Central Ambulance Service at 6.47pm on January 25, reporting the discovery of a stabbed man in Brooklands Square.

Despite the efforts of paramedics to save the victim’s life, the 48-year-old from Milton Keynes tragically succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The victim’s family has been notified, and Senior Investigating Officer Detective Inspector Alice Broad expressed condolences and stressed the commitment to conducting a thorough investigation.

Two individuals, a 27-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, both from Milton Keynes, have been arrested on suspicion of murder. Additionally, a 57-year-old woman from Milton Keynes is in custody on suspicion of assisting an offender. The 27-year-old woman has been released without further action.

Chief Superintendent Emma Baillie, the Local Policing Commander for Milton Keynes, acknowledged the collective efforts to combat serious violence and knife crime in the community. Despite this tragic incident, she reassured the public that the community will persist in working together to prevent further tragedies.

Given recent contact with the victim, the police have made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC). The IOPC will decide whether to conduct an investigation related to this specific aspect of the case, ensuring transparency and accountability in the investigative process.
