A murder investigation has been launched by Sussex Police in Diplocks Way, Hailsham, after a tragic incident occurred on the night of Saturday 18 November. According to reports, a black vehicle collided with a pedestrian at approximately 11pm resulting in the death of a 24-year-old local man. The victim’s next of kin have been informed and are currently receiving support from specially trained officers.
At this time, both the vehicle and the suspect involved remain outstanding, and efforts are underway to identify and locate them. The police are actively pursuing leads and conducting thorough investigations to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Harbour, the lead investigator, stated that the case is being treated as a high priority, with officers working tirelessly to gather information and piece together the events that transpired. He appealed to the public for any assistance they can provide, particularly from individuals who may have witnessed the incident or captured it on mobile, CCTV, or dash cam footage.
