Pedestrian Hospitalised After Collision with Vehicle in Woolwich

Ambulance staff members who are part of the Unite union in the South East of England are set to go on strike today following the union’s rejection of a 5% pay deal for NHS staff members in England last month

A 22-year-old man has been taken to the hospital following a collision with a vehicle in Woolwich.

The incident occurred on Wickham Lane, Woolwich, with police and the London Ambulance Service responding to the emergency call at around 1:30 pm on Tuesday, November 7.

Upon their arrival, they found the injured pedestrian, and after initial medical assessment, the 22-year-old man was transported to a local hospital for further treatment. Fortunately, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation into the incident, and enquiries are ongoing. The road was temporarily closed as authorities dealt with the aftermath of the collision.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated, “At around 13:30hrs on Tuesday, November 7, police were called to Wickham Road, Woolwich after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle. Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service (LAS), and a 22-year-old man was taken to a local hospital. Enquiries are ongoing.”

As investigations continue, the circumstances surrounding the collision will be scrutinized in detail to ascertain the precise sequence of events. Further updates from the authorities will be expected as the inquiry progresses.
