The incident occurred shortly after 11pm when a car, identified as a Toyota Hilux Invincible, was flagged down by three men while traveling along the Bessbrook Road. The men reportedly threatened the occupants of the vehicle, demanding that they exit the car immediately.

The situation escalated as the assailants took control of the vehicle, forcing the occupants out, and fled the scene. The stolen car was later found ablaze on the nearby Tullyallen Road. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, but the incident has left the victims shaken and traumatised.
