Police Appeal for Witnesses in Cheltenham Hit-and-Run Incident Involving Child

Gloucestershire Police are urgently appealing for witnesses to come forward following a hit-and-run incident involving a vehicle and an 11-year-old boy. The collision occurred on Wednesday, 27 September, as the child was walking home from school.

According to reports, the boy was crossing Tommy Taylors Lane near the junction for Leisure at Cheltenham at approximately 13.50 BST when he was struck by a white vehicle. The impact knocked him to the ground, resulting in bruising and swelling to his face.

Although the driver initially stopped and exited the vehicle, they left the scene before the boy’s parents arrived. The car was traveling from the direction of Pittville Park, and the driver has been described as a male aged between 40 and 50 with short hair.

Investigating officers are eager to hear from the driver involved in the incident, as well as anyone who witnessed the collision or possesses dash-cam footage. Police are urging individuals with information to complete an online form on the Gloucestershire Police website and provide details, quoting incident number 246 of 27th September.
