Ryanair has issued a travel warning for Britons planning to fly today, cautioning of potential disruptions for flights to and from London Stansted due to adverse weather conditions.
The budget airline has advised holidaymakers to check the status of their flights, particularly those scheduled for Sunday, May 5, as poor weather conditions may lead to delays.
Affected passengers will be notified directly, but Ryanair recommends checking the Ryanair app for the latest updates on flight statuses.
We regret any inconvenience caused to passengers by these weather conditions, which are outside of Ryanair’s control and affect all airlines operating to/from London Stansted on Sunday 5 May,” the airline stated.
Passengers facing delays of two hours or more (for flights up to 1,500km) or three hours or more (for intra-EU flights over 1,500km and other flights between 1,500km and 3,500km) will receive assistance at the airport, including meal coupons.
In cases where flights are cancelled due to circumstances beyond Ryanair’s control, such as ATC strikes or adverse weather conditions, passengers may be entitled to compensation in accordance with applicable Passenger Rights Regulations. However, if circumstances are beyond the airline’s control, compensation may not be applicable.
Ryanair operates over 2,800 flights per day, and it may take 24-96 hours for the operations team to establish the reason for a flight cancellation. The airline reassures passengers that resolving potential claims is a priority and will be done as quickly as possible.
Passengers are advised to check the Ryanair app for updates and to seek assistance from colleagues at the airport if needed.
For further information or assistance, passengers can contact Ryanair customer service or visit the airline’s website.
