Detectives investigating a fatal fire in Dagenham have charged a second youth in connection with the incident that led to the death of 76-year-old Robert Price.
Incident Overview
Robert Price tragically died following a fire at a residential property on Oval Road North, Dagenham, on Saturday, 27 July. A post-mortem examination conducted on Monday, 29 July determined the cause of death to be inhalation of fire fumes and burns. Mr. Price’s family has been informed and is currently being supported by specialist officers. They have requested privacy during this difficult time.
Charges and Court Appearances
A 17-year-old boy, referred to as [B], was previously charged on 30 July with murder and arson with intent to endanger life. He appeared in custody at the Old Bailey on Friday, 2 August and was remanded to appear at the same court for a pre-trial plea hearing on Friday, 18 October.
On Sunday, 4 August, a 16-year-old boy, referred to as [C], was also charged with murder and arson with intent to endanger life. He is set to appear in custody at Barkingside Youth Court on Monday, 5 August.
